Hi, I’m Ms. Thayer — the founder of Building Brains and a dedicated tutor who believes every student can succeed with the right guidance. I currently hold a Bachelors Degree in Data Science with a history working in the public sector and currently as a Data Analyst. Alongside my studies, I’ve tutored young kids in my community and fellow colleagues in the language of Math! I’m very enthusiastic about what I tutor and want to bring out the best in all students I work with.

I’ve studied mathematics up to Calculus III, and through that journey, I realized something important: many institutions don’t teach math in a way that actually sticks. Too often, students are taught to memorize formulas without understanding the deeper concepts. That’s why my approach focuses on learning theory, not just memorization. By uncovering the logic and patterns behind problems, I help students develop lasting confidence and problem-solving skills.

Whether it’s mastering elementary math, tackling advanced topics, or building stronger study habits, I tailor my approach to each student’s unique learning style. My goal is simple: to make learning less intimidating, more engaging, and a tool students can carry with them for life.
